# Melissa, the Proactive Manager

Melissa was overwhelmed by the demands of her role, particularly around record-keeping and memory. Genio Notes provided her with the crucial safety net needed to thrive.

Melissa, a team manager in Adult Social Care for a local authority, recognised a pattern of burnout related to the demands of her role. Although currently on an assessment pathway for ADHD, her working diagnosis suggested that core responsibilities, like complex record-keeping and information retention, were causing significant stress.

> “I’d realised I’d gone around a cycle over years where I would get to a point where I was kind of feeling overwhelmed with juggling lots of aspects of the responsibilities of my role”

Determined to break this cycle and avoid reaching a point of sickness absence, Melissa made a proactive referral to Access to Work.

> “The referral to Access to Work was because I decided I want to do something different this time and not get to a point where I was off sick.”

Following her assessment, Genio Notes was recommended as a solution.

Melissa's role demands high focus, especially in one-to-one settings, where maintaining eye contact and engagement is crucial. Prior to using the software, the pressure of making adequate notes conflicted with her need to focus on the person she was supporting. Furthermore, she found the training sessions overwhelming.
