Genio’s recent research project indicates that by using Genio Notes, New Majority Learners not only achieve, but maintain higher GPAs, feel less stressed than their peers and are more confident in their learning. ## How Genio Notes supports New Majority Learners To understand how students experience Genio Notes differently, we researched over 300 users to analyze how Genio Notes was impacting their education. Critically, this study was undertaken over three years to demonstrate how they were being supported not only over a semester, but throughout their studies. The research highlighted three key areas of longitudinal support. ### Genio Notes enables GPA maintenance For New Majority Learners, not only securing, but maintaining a high GPA is a significant achievement. When using Genio Notes, this proves that the tool neutralizes systemic disadvantage for learners with barriers, whether they be inherent or circumstantial. While traditional students tend to sprint toward higher grades, New Majority Learners are [running a weighted marathon](https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.1080/2331186X.2023.2209484). Maintaining a 3.46 GPA while working 30 hours a week or managing a disability is not the norm. When using Genio Notes, particularly over multiple years, there is clear evidence of a consistent reduction in academic stress. Over the three years, there is a demonstrable stress inversion, New Majority Learners reporting lower average stress scores (4.10) than traditional peers (4.34) over 3 years. It is not just about giving students the information they need, it is about giving them the belief they can succeed.
